Let's start with the lows....
1. Work is stressful! That's all I'm gonna say about that!
2. Nick's employment situation still remains the same. We continue to pray that the Lord will allow him to get a job call for a big job here soon.
3. Last but not least....
ARE YOU SERIOUS HUSKERS?!??!
VS
Eight turn overs Huskers?!?! Are you kidding me?!? You seriously turned the ball over more than you scored! SAD!!! WAKE-UP call!!!! GET RID OF LEE!!!! GOOO Defense though! Good job!
NOW, if they could all play like Suh, we'd actually be good!
Ok, time for the good news of the past week and weekend!
1. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU Chuck and Deb (Nick's parents!) You are a true blessing!! We thank the Lord for you every day. Nick's mom called Tuesday afternoon and asked if we needed milk. I said that we were low. She said she would bring over a couple gallons of milk the next day. Wednesday rolls around and "a couple gallons of milk," turned into 3-4 trips back and forth from the car getting groceries and bringing them inside (and that included 3 people going back and forth getting groceries)!! Our cabinets are stocked, our fridge/freezer are full, and we had to put a lot of meat/bread/milk in the freezer down in the basemet. Not only did they stock us up on food, but also laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, deorderant, kleenex, cleaning supplies, etc! It is true-the Lord does provide for his children. I can never doubt that.
2. Mowing should be a lot easier next season...(Nick is a very happy man!)
3. FREE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES WHEN MONEY IS TIGHT!!!! Toby decided he really didn't want to go get a new costume this year, because he really doesn't want to go trick-or-treating. "I just want to walk with you guys and help push the stroller and watch Julia and Isaiah trick-or-treat. I don't really like candy all that much!" Which yes...is true! So, Toby decided all he wanted to do is use his football uniform!! Then, Christi, the two little one's sitter said she had a big bin of Halloween costumes that we could go through and find ones for the babies!!! Again, the Lord has provided!!! THANK YOU CHRISTI (and Toby too for not wanting to go buy a new costume)!
4. Great friends, with great children who we get to help celebrate their birthdays with!!! Today, we went to Jenn and Jeremy's house to help celebrate 2 special birthdays-Happy Birthday Joshua and Jaron! It was a costume birthday party (so the kids get to use their free costumes more than once-YAY!) We all had such a great time at the party. There was yummy food, awesome snacks, fun games and some of the costumes were just great! Jenn-you looked SUPER (and oh so skinny!! ;) Way to go lady!!!).
Happy Birthday Joshua
Happy Birthday Jaron
Some of the crew
One Hot Mama playing games
Mommy's Boy
Toby running to put the last bone down for the green team!!
Even poor Ryder with a broken leg had fun
Isaiah had a blast!
The party wore our kids out!!
5. Last but not least, tonight is night 2 of laying Julia down on her own and having her fall asleep without a fight. She knows her door can stay open and she'll earn a sticker on her sticker chart. Once she gets so many stickers, she can get a prize. But, if she is loud, fights it, runs out of her room (other than to use the bathroom FOR REAL) then her door has to be closed. So far, so good! (For those that do not know-we fought her from January 2009 until about a couple months ago with her screaming, running out 1,000 times, fighting tooth and nail to stay up, to have us lay with her, or to sleep with us. It would last HOURS! The last month or so, I have been laying with her in her bed until she fell asleep-which thankfully was not long. However, in the mean time, I would also fall asleep. I would find my evenings shot. I finally decided last night-we would try Jenn's method for Jesa and Jaron. Like I said before, so far, so good. 'knock on wood.')
Tomorrow is a big game for Toby and Nick! It is the division championship. Please keep them in your prayers.
So tomorrow, we are hoping to have a busy day-if the weather permits. We will go to church at 9, game in Blair, NE at 2, and pumpkin patch back home in Gretna after that. So, hopefully we will have some fun pumpkin patch pictures coming up soon. I'm going to pray for beautiful weather tomorrow.
Off to watch a movie! (maybe I can get my husband to join me. He is currently zoned into playing his football game on play station 2.)
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
