WHITE CHRISTMAS IS WHAT WE HAD!!!!
We weren't sure if we were going to be able to make it to Nana and Papa's house tonight for our Christmas celebration with them because of the snow. There is A LOT of snow out there!!! But we did...safe and sound. When we got there, this is what we saw!
THAT IS A LOT OF SNOW!!!!!!
The snow didn't stop us!! Everybody but Nick and Sara from Minneapolis, were able to make it tonight. It was nice to have everybody home. We didn't do the normal big Christmas meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, etc. This year, we just did little h'orderves and it was plenty! We had wings, shrimp, crackers and cheese, fruit, popcorn, little sandwhich things :) You know, all the REALLY good stuff.
We didn't exchange gifts this year with everybody. We all decided it was a tough every for everybody and gifts really aren't the reason for Christmas. Tonight was about family. We played games, talked, and watched a movie.
Papa and Lil Man
Nana and the babies
Uncle Colter and Julia
Aunt NeNe, Mommy, and Isaiah
Aunt Lindsey and Julia Gulia
Isaiah playing
Julia looking as sweet as ever-even with messy hair from taking out her bow!
I really enjoyed how we celebrated today. We didn't need lots of gifts, big meals, and TONS of treats (although we had a couple pies.) This year was so relaxing and it was so nice to be able to spend time together and bond. It was nice not to have to stress about buying gifts, cooking meals, and cleaning up all the meals. I really do hope we continue to just make Christmas a time for family and fun.
The Christmas celebrations are done for 2009 and I'm beat...
Merry Christmas one last time this year!
